Installation Tips:
Preparation: Ensure you have all the necessary tools and materials, including a drill, screws, wood glue, and measuring tape. We recommend ¾”, and 5/8” paddle bits.
Measure and Mark: Measure the height of your staircase and mark the positions where each baluster will be installed. Ensure even spacing for a uniform look. Universal codes require that a 4” sphere cannot pass between balusters.
Drill Holes: Drill holes into the handrail (5/8”) and the stair tread (3/4”) where the balusters will be inserted. The holes should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the baluster’s pin top to ensure a snug fit.
Apply Wood Glue: Apply a small amount of wood glue to the pin top of the baluster before inserting it into the drilled holes. This will help secure the baluster in place.
Insert and Secure: Insert the baluster into the holes and ensure it is straight. Use screws to secure the baluster to the stair tread if necessary.
Finishing Touches: Once all balusters are installed, check for any wobbling and adjust as needed. Sand and finish the balusters to match the rest of your staircase.
